Mainland Guadeloupe is divided into 2 "islands":Grande-Terre and Basse-Terre, which are linked by two bridges: the Gabarre and the Alliance. These 2 islands form a magnificent butterfly in the center of the Caribbean arc. Basse-Terre, with its mountainous terrain, is home to tropical forests, waterfalls and rivers. Its beaches range from pink to black sand. Grande-Terre, on the other hand, is flat and arid, with white sandy beaches.
