The Little Egret
This wading bird is a member of the Ardeidae family, which includes herons, egrets, bitterns and related species. With its all-white plumage and yellow beak, the egret has long, thin, yellow legs. Very common in the Caribbean, it is often seen on the backs of oxen, which it deworms, hence its nickname "oxpecker".
Le Colibri
Called "FouFou" in Creole, it's part of the Caribbean landscape. There are many species, and they feed mainly on nectar, but also on insects. Small, fast and with brightly colored plumage, it impresses with its speed and ability to fly backwards! You'll often see it in gardens, savoring the nectar from flowers with its long, curved beak.
Le Pipiri
Who hasn't heard the expression "waking up to the Pipiri singing"? It comes from this little bird in the canary family, which lets out its song as soon as the sun rises. A real pleasure for early risers!
